While Ventura Coast Milk Bank is working towards becoming a nonprofit member milk bank accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), we have partnered with University of California Health Milk Bank to collect, process, and distribute milk.

Milk Donor FAQs

Most healthy, lactating individuals with a surplus of milk are eligible for donation.

Donors must be able to donate at least 100 ounces of milk for the initial donation.

Milk frozen in a standard or deep freezer within the past 8 months can be donated.

Milk that has been expressed up until baby's second birthday can be accepted.

Yes, previously approved donors will need to complete the registration process again. Since each pregnancy is different, any new health conditions will need to be documented and a new blood test will need to be completed.
